As of January 1, 2012, the District converted to metered billing. Metered bills consist of two components:
Fixed Service Charge: This charge is based on your meter size and is billed bimonthly in advance of service.
Commodity Rate: This charge is based on water usage and is billed bimonthly in arrears.
Finding Your Meter Size
If you are unsure of your meter size, it can be found on your billing statement under Service Type. If you have trouble finding it or don’t have a current billing statement, our Customer Service staff will be happy to assist you. Call us at (916) 967-5723 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Downsize Your Meter
Submit a Meter Downsize Application to customer service. You may fax it to (916) 967-0153 or drop it in our office. The smallest meter size available to District customers is 1 inch in diameter.
Fair Oaks Water District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
